About Me:
I love life and people! Everyday is an adventure with challenges to overcome and little miracles waiting to happen. I consider working at Early Light Academy to be one of those little miracles and feel so grateful for the opportunity to associate with such fine people in an educational setting of this nature. Previous to Early Light, I was a teacher at three very different schools teaching either the third or sixth grade. This is my third year working in Fourth Grade and it has definitly found a home in my heart. I love UTAH!
I was reared in Idaho Falls, Idaho with my best friends; one sister and three brothers. My childhood was one of happiness and imagination. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. I also pursued other dreams and became a Flight Attendant for Delta Airlines, a Hostess for the Marriott Concierge, and a student at Westminster of Salt Lake City, where I earned a Master's Degree in Education.
I am married to Rick Groendyke and together we have one son, Noah. He is an active fourteen year old boy that keeps me young at heart…along with a very large Great Dane Dog, Da Vinci and itsy-bitsy schitzu, Ippy. I find joy in a variety of hobbies including: photography, journaling, blogging, exercising, cheering Noah, reading and writing books...just plain participating in life. My strength is being able to see the worth of an individual and having the ability and desire to be an instrument in helping that person reach their potential.
