Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to Week 2!
Last week was all about getting to know the students and understanding procedures. This week is practice and training, training and practice.
I want our communication to be clear and concise. I will communicate with you through weekly updates. I will send an email linking you to this page. If you have questions, feel free to email me.
Once we are passed the training and into routines, updates will not be lengthy.
Every day students should bring home their folder and planner.
Planners:
Student write the agenda for the day. This is where you know what is happening in school. Sometimes we may not get to all the items planned. It helps students know the end from the beginning. Parents do not need to sign every night. I know you are busy. Once per week is all that is required. Planners are checked on Friday by Mrs. Bennett.
Homework Folder:
Homework Folders were filled today. I will show you what to expect and explain the folder.
On the "Back to School" Side - This is where the homework will be.
First Page Protector: New Word List for the week. Word lists will be on a colored piece of paper.
Students are to study the spelling list for a test on Friday. Amazing Words and Vocabulary words are to help your child with word development and fluency. Try to integrate or use those words in conversations at home.
On the backside of the Green Sheet is a wonderful homework routine. Again, homework should not exceed 40 minutes so my recommendation is to do the math page first (found in "back to school side of folder") read for 15 minutes. If their is time left, students can practice typing skills, math facts etc.
